Default So is Vince Young done with football now?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3579504

Quote:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The mother of Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young said he's "hurting inside and out" and indicated he might not want to play football any longer.

Felicia Young said in Wednesday editions of The Tennessean that her son is tired of all of the negativity he's faced after being booed during a 17-10 win Sunday over Jacksonville.

"What would you think, if you were tired of being ridiculed and persecuted and talked about and not being treated very well, what would you do? What kind of decision would you make?" Felicia Young said. "He may not want to deal with it [all], but you have to get to that point before you make that decision first.

"But we're not talking about football right now. We're talking about what would make him happy, and that is the most important thing."

Young was the subject of a four-hour search Monday night by Nashville police, who were called by Titans coach Jeff Fisher after Young's family members expressed concern about Young's "emotional well-being," according to police.

Well that's probably not true, but just the fact that his mom would say "he might not want to play football anymore" is something.

Why is this idiot (literally) such a great ol' puss?

Damn, man. Shit happens. People are going to hype you when you're doing well and turn around and rip you when you're not doing so hot. Even your own fans. It happens.

But this is the only thing he has going for him in life. Period. And it has made him rich and could keep him rich so I don't he quits.

just another schizo to enter the nfl, anyone remeber Alonzo Spellman...yikes!

Vince Young must be really dumb though because he obviously doesn't have any self confidence. he probably relied on everyone in Autin, Texas to tell him how great and wonderful he is. and now that he isn't getting that ego boost, he collapses like a 1st grader who pissed their pants...just nothing going on upstairs with vince...

His mother is probably overreacting.

Have you ever had a paticularly f*cked up stretch and everyone around you kept trying to make you feel better? The sh*t gets annoying. You blow up and go off to be alone or with people who will let you think, drink a beer, and eat some wings without asking if you are okay every 2 minutes.

Vince Young needs to get **** together and do his thang. Jeff Garcia faced a similar situation in his 1st year at San Fran. Steve Young goes down and Jeff comes in and has an average season, not quite what the Niners fan expect from their QB's. THere was actually a sports radio show where the hosts where bashing Jeff Garcia after the season and his dad actually calls in to defend him and the hosts eventually found out it was his father. Embarassing huh?

Jeff would proceed to go to the Pro-Bowl one year later and then stage one of the greatest playoff comebacks of all time against the Giants. And did I mention he's married to a Playboy bunny. And everyone wanted him gone from San Fran.

Keep your head up Vince, let the hataz hate and just do your thang and everything will fall into place.

how is that related at all to Vince Young? so what if Jeff Garcia's father calls in to a show defending him, you didn't see or hear about Jeff Garcia himself going coookoooo. yeah his girl is hot as ****, one of the hottest playboy bunnies i've seen.

But none of that has anything to do with Vince Young and him being depressed with thin skin. I'm sure theres more to it, but it seems his heart isn't in football period, while hes expected to play for a long time with a fat contract, future of an organization, and his fans. So yeah he probably feels pressure, but so does every good athlete that gets a fat contract and expected to carry a team.

Too bad he can't pull a TMac and pretend like hes some role player that shows up when he shows up to play, without the weight of pressure most stars expected to carry their team feels.
