Embarrassed of Being Black/African American

So, the question is. Do you guys know any Black person that is uncomfortable with being Black? It might seem like an odd question to ask but I saw it during High School. One of my Graduating Class members who happens to be African American just hated being Black.

He often said multiple times that he wishes he wasn't born Black or wishes he was born Japanese. There weren't many Blacks in my graduating class maybe 6-8 or so out 800+ students for the year. He would always do things that would distinguish himself as "not black" He often said that hes a white boy in a Black boys body and would even make racist and inappropriate jokes regarding Blacks. He would even use the N word and his friends would use that word too even though their not Black. He wouldn't get offended one bit. He actually encouraged it...

I don't really understand why this is so If you guys have a better understanding or perspective please say so.

I find his behavior disgusting and deplorable to be honest. One of my male friends who's African said that most likely his family was sold by his own people because of how unfathomable he found it that one would be disgusted with their own ethnicity.

Also There was a lower Classman who I knew who also had this "inferiority complex" so to speak. But his was around women. He said that he literally does not find any Black women attractive.[Hes Black]

i don't think i've met anyone who was ashamed for who he was, but OTOH i've met some black dudes who were ashamed of american blacks for various reasons.

their reasoning made sense to me... similar to the way that i'm ashamed of the conquistadors and european settlers / exploiters of the americas.

Yea I think a lot Africans over here are ashamed of niqqa-dom and prolly wish they didn't share the same coloring cuz lotta African cultures are still pretty antiquated in a lot of things
