Brown didn't have to worry about running against the people Barry did. The size and speed of the game is so much more intense from Barry's era in comparison to the late 50's/60's.

Saying player x wouldn't do good in player y's time isn't a great argument because so much changes over the decades between them. Give Jim Brown all the advances in medical treatment and training and who knows what kind of athlete he would be. I would much rather go on the fact that Jim Brown was so much of a better athlete than everyone during HIS time it matches up with how much more athletic Barry was to his opponents.

There were situations were Jim Brown was at a disadvantage if you want to look at numbers such as games in a season, if you give him 16 games every year who knows what his numbers would look like in the short time he played. I'd rather have the man that was able to out power, out run, and out score everyone that was put in front him in any situation.

yes I do...I think he went with what he felt suited him best, bouncing around the holes...he was super unconventional

and many times it was super frustrating for the team when he got them into 3rd and long situations because he went 10 yards backward.

that is why Barry wouldn't have been a good fit for Dallas...he wasn't good and running through holes...Emmitt was a perfect fit.

Whatever. It just so happened that the first year he played in a traditional offense with a full time fullback, he ran for 2000 yards.

Prime Barry Sanders. Guy was the Derrick Rose of the NBA during his heyday.

Correct answer is Walter Payton.

But for this question I'll probably go with Barry.

He is like what AP is today except better. You're always afraid on every play that he'll either score or make you look silly while going by you.

AD is called "the modern day Jim Brown"

he is nothing like Barry...Barry was scared to get hit...Brown and Peterson make the defense scared

Would take prime Walter Payton over both.

In this comparison, however, it comes down to two different criteria;

If I want the more exciting, entertaining back, give me Sanders.

If I want the more reliable, consistent back, give me Brown.

Well put, man. I never really thought of it that way.

Jim Brown. He punished defenders and was durable. Better ypc too. I love old school backs who can carry the rock, punish defenders, hit the home run and get me 3 yards if needed, not to mention get me td's in the redzone and goal line.
