Re: Stan Van Gundy confirms Dwight Howard asked Magic to fire him
Why didn't the Magic just trade Dwight for Bynum when they had the chance. This is a huge joke, and Dwight acts like a moron. What a complete failure

Re: Stan Van Gundy confirms Dwight Howard asked Magic to fire him
they'll get more in the offseason if they trade him so its not really a loss for the Magic, aside from the embarassment.

The people harping on SVG here are making 0 sense. What has he done badly?
Since Golden State hates Bogut so much they should just trade him and Curry and Lee for Dwight and Turk. Maybe nab some Anderson out of it too.

Dwight is being a bitch. Play for your team and play for your coach.

Not sure how these two can work together. If you fire SVG, you can basically hand the franchise over to Howard. He can play coach and GM. As a coach how can you still work with Howard?
If the Magic had played this (Utah) smart, they had kept Gortat and would have traded Howard quietly two years ago for something like J. Smith, Horford, Teague, and two first round picks. If you can secure a lottery pick from another team in that deal, you have a decent shot to get a Cousins or Paul George with that pick. You land Shumpert or Leonard with one of your own picks.
Teague/Nelson
Richardson/Redick
George/Leonard
Smith/Anderson
Horford/Gortat
That

I respect SVG for doing this. I also believe he's a good/great coach.

Blame Otis. Then again there is like no other player that can have such a big impact in a team like D12. But blame Otis. It's his fault for letting the franchise devolve like that.
There are so many wrongs things with the way Otis managed that team. So many wrong choices he made. It's hilarious people are forgiving just how much of a bad job he did. And does.

I think he should have kept his mouth shut about the whole thing. It's a much bigger story now.
And as a coach? Clearly his three point chucking philosophy isn't working too well lately, people complain about Dwight not shooting enough but I think that has a lot to do with their crappy offensive philosophy of shooting threes at every possible opportunity.
He's not a bad coach, but certainly not a great one.
