Default Isn't Turiaf=Kwame

From what I read I think most of the people on this board think kwame is expendable but I've read some posts where people r pretty much sayin he's good n stuff, then I wondered if he's even better than turiaf, b/c turiaf has that midrange J, maybe not consistent, but it's there, plus I think he's just as good defensively as kwame as far as blockin shots or whatever, he makes more free throws n he has tons more NRG, so am I missin something??? or is turiaf>>kwame

Don't forget that kwame came out of high school and most high school players usually take a little big longer to develop than College players.

Turiaf is a much better player from what I've seen in the laker season.

turiaf cannot guard centers. Kwame's strength is interior D. He is a decent help defender too. however, his real value is his expiring contract.

If you see Turiaf next to Kwame, there is a significant size difference. Turiaf really belongs at the 4, although he has done an admirable job at the 5.

but turiaf is more of a real PF than he is a C....

i love turiafs game...he reminds me a little of webber....i feel as if turiaf was more involved in the offense he could turn some heads imo

well, for one, kwame is way bigger than turiaf. kwame can guard shaq, turiaf can't.

but i still prefer turiaf over kwame

Kwame - decent post scorer
- good post defender
- good steals for a big man
- not a good help defender
- bad hands

Turiaf - scores on tip-ins and passes from odom and kobe
- good hands
- avg post defender
- good help defender
- has mid range jumper
- good shot blocker
- plays w/ energy

You should also add "great help defender" for turiaf.

He blocks shots like a motha****a

Can't exactly compare since Kwame sucks at the 4 and Ronnie sucks at the 5.

The only basis for comparison is how we play when one of them is on the court. Based on this, I would say we are far better when Kwame's on court. He is also a very underrated passer.

Now that I think about it, I don't ever remember them playing together, why is this?

They can't use them at the same time bc only those two + bynum can play center and most of the time, 1 of them is injured

I like Turiaf energy and makes for a good role player. Brown had enough time to develop in my opinion.

I think most of us are Turiaf fans... I certainly like what he brings and he came "cheap" as a second rounder. Definitely of value to our team!

Here are a couple of pictures I took from the Lakers summer pro league in July of 2005, that I thought you might like. (prior to Turiaf's surgery) He played with a ton of energy at that time and he was fun to watch.

I agree. Brown could have been an all star by now, if he didn't goof off the last 4 seasons.
