Default Ray Allen three point record thread

Ray Allen currently has 2526, the record set by Reggie Miller is 2560. Ray Ray needs 34 three pointers to tie, 35 to break. He's making 2.2 a game this season so far. He's projected to break the record in roughly 16-17 games from now. Looking at the schedule, and knowing Boston fans, we would really hope he does it at home. It's projected to be the week of February 14, however, that Wednesday of that week is the last game of the season before the All Star festivities, so if he doesn't break it then, we'd have to wait another week before he does, when we go on a tough 4 game west-coast road trip.

If he can step up his three point shooting, he could potentially break the record at home against LAL, Miami, or New Jersey. That's our last home-stand before the All-Star break and the west-coast road trip.

There's no telling really when he'll do it. Ray's certainly known for exploding and going for well above 5 three pointers made a game for a stretch. Shit, he could do it in a handful of games if he looks for his shot and is stroking it well.

I will update this thread after every Boston game:

    Ray Allen: 2555
    Reggie Miller: 2560

What's astonishing is Ray shooting a career high in FG% (51%) and 3 pt FG % (47%) in his 15th year.

    Respect from this Laker fan.

Rondo has been setting him up very well so far this season. To be honest, teams aren't defending Ray as well as they used to. I'm watching these games, looking at the defenders running through screens and picks and I'm not seeing the same ferocity on defense against Ray like I have the past few seasons. And he hasn't declined since then physically, he's the same old Ray Ray.

His off ball movement is outstanding, his shooting form a pleasure to watch, he's
unbelievably valueable as a team player, and a hell of a clutch shooter.
    I love Ray.

I think that Ray is just too good at getting open. He leaves his defender so unnoticed, it's crazy that he gets so many open looks now.

Congrats to Kidd also for moving into 3rd place (deserves it own thread) also Pierce might move into the top 10 this season. But not to get a Ray thread off track so props to him when he eventually does it.

His shot is a thing of beauty. A few years back I thought it would be in 2012. Great for him.

I hope that I can gauge when he will do it and be able to go to the game when he breaks it. It was looking like the game against Phoenix in March for the entire season, but he's been hitting quite a few in the last few games.

Seeing that in person would be sick.

Rep to OP for making this. I think this is something very needed. History is about to be made.
