You know, I once had this idea to replicate a tablet into an old typing machine. The biggest block to that technology may have been the sensor and see through on the main frame.
What if the keyboard was broken into half on each side, having the ability to switch into numbers and signs should make it really feasible, people should be able to adapt to that typing skill just as fast as a phone.
Edit, all they have to do is study the pattern on which hand/finger are used per letters(unless there is a proper way to type.) It ought to work.

None of it makes sense. If the suit made you that dense he'd crash right through every building and fall a 100 meters into the earth as soon as he hit the button.

And the questions in regard to whether or not we could have a type writing tablet. Actually isn't about 2 layers of screens as I originally thought. But whether or not, the core itself could project/function 2 layers at once. But I can't rule out the possibility of the first one happening.
Edit, that would be a mini 3d technology happening right between the covers of the table wouldn't it.
