4 MVPs, 3 titles, 30/10/5K player
Where would you rank such a player at their position all-time?

what about 30/10/10k?
Lebron is on pace to do it after his 18th season..... by then he'd have 38k points

Didn't play SG. But I'll add nearly 2,300 steals and nearly 2000 blocks.

That will be very impressive. He might get to 4 titles by then with the young stacked Cavs roster he has in the East.
4/12

Dr. J is at ~12 for me. Inflated stats from the run and gun ABA.

Does anyone know why exactly the ABA is considered an inferior league to the NBA at the time? In the first year of the merger, 4 of the 10 All-NBA players were from the ABA, and 10 of the 26 All-Stars were from the ABA as well.

Only 10 players from the ABA made the ASG, while 16 were from the NBA. That's probably one of the reasons why. Both the NBA and ABA were weak pre-merger, as a matter of fact.

The ABA was smaller too. 10 teams in the ABA, while there were 18 teams in the NBA. In a combined league, they would've represented 36%. And the next year, they represented 40% of the All-NBA players and 38% of the All-Stars. Its seems like the league was on the same level.
And if we use the argument that it was a smaller league against them, then I don't really understand why we take anything that happened in the 60s that seriously.

I don't. It was an extremely weak era, IMO.

You have to know what "position" it is.
If we assume the position is SF, then third, because LeBron James and Larry Bird exist.
But position doesn't tell you everything: all three play different roles, and although unique in the history of the game their playing style is probably more similar to that of players of a different position than to that of each other.
LeBron is a primary ball handler and creator you could just as well rank against point guards of the Russell Westbrook variety. Bird is something of an inside / outside forward you could contrast with power forwards like Dirk

Yes, but that's because ABA Dr J tends to be discounted. Include his career there, and he has as good a case as those two for being the GOAT SF (not counting what Lebron will do in the future). That and the game became popularized with Magic/Bird, even though Dr J is iconic.

Re: 4 MVPs, 3 titles, 30/10/5K player
well the mvps dont matter. thats more of a club membership with the media handing out multiples to their agenda
so its about titles by mvps with asterisks for fake lockout seasons and/or titles in which a team mate saved the finals
3 legit titles + 3 fmvps with those stats = top 8-9
2 legit titles out of 3 + 3 fmvps with those stats = top 9-10
1 legit title out of 3 + 3 fmvps with those stats = top 10-11
0 legit titles out of 3 + 3 fmvps with those stats = top 11-12
so in other words... lebron has a chance to pass hakeem if he can win a legit title. if he has another bogus lockout or saved ray allen'esq title he stays where he is

Or for whatever the case may be if Lebron wins another ring.
