Default so the heat land the number 1 pick...

Presume we continue to have a mediocre season in the win column, but enough happens for Marion to hang around and pick up the rather lucrative option he has.

Which potential player fits in best with the heat?

I personally love the versatility, scoring punch, speed, quickness and production a OJ Mayo/Wade/Marion combination would have

Mayo is bit high for number 1 though.
So maybe DeAndre Jordan... but how quick will he develop?
Would Eric Gordon and Wade work well as a backcourt tandem?

Would Beasley come off the bench effectively?

Shawn Marion will be turning thirty this year, and I wonder how many years he has left. He has shown that he can still be productive, so I would try to keep him, and hopefully re-sign him for a smaller amount in a couple of years. I thought about Michael Beasley, but obviously if Shawn Marion is starting at the 3, and Udonis Haslem at the 4, then there is no room for him on this team. Then we move to Mayo. I think Mayo is more of a shooting guard, but would the Heat feel comfortable with Wade at the point? Also, I wonder if Mayo would react negatively to being overshadowed by a player of Wade's caliber. Derrick Rose, a 6-4 point guard, seems like an ideal backcourt mate to Dwayne Wade. I think he would be fine with being the second-best guard, he could be the primary ball handler, and he would be pretty good on defense, as well. Those two would make a hell of a backcourt.

DeAndre Jordan is a possibility, but only if it's below the first pick. I wouldn't take a developmental project like him at #1.
