Default Bucks officially hire Skiles as new coach

http://www.insidehoops.com/bucks-hire-skiles-042108.shtml

General Manager John Hammond announced today that Scott Skiles has agreed to a multi-year contract to become the head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. Skiles becomes the 11th head coach in the history of the franchise and comes to Milwaukee with eight seasons of NBA head coaching experience.

“Scott is a proven NBA head coach who has shown an ability to win,” said Hammond. “He was a passionate player at all levels of the game and that thirst for success has served him well as a coach. We look forward to what he will bring to this franchise and we welcome him and his family to Milwaukee.”

I think they should have tried to get Jeff Van Gundy, unless they did and he refused. Oh well, hopefully Skiles will give the Bucks a better chance at the play-offs.

It's a good move potentially. Meaning they will have to do major changes to the roster to make this move work. With the current roster, it won't be any better. They need different style of players to satisfy Skiles or the Bucks will be in for another season of disappointment...

Good move, he's the right coach for this team. He can make the Bucks try harder compared to recent years. I guess this means nobody will be rocking a head band the next 4 years or whenever he's gone.
