Fast forward to the last 40 minutes. That's the whole movie right there. That's when it turns into a comedy.

That is not even a challenge.
Try watching Titanic and try not to laugh once.

impossible, dude who violently hits the propellor and Cal bashing the drowning steerage class with his life boat oars shouting "get back, you'll swamp us!" gets me every time

Lost in Translation was such an empty movie.

Oh no, they might never see each other again because it won't be like this specific time. It's no longer new and exciting. If you want to see each other, call and meet up.
They are each married, and each leads different lives, and he is about 35-40 years older. It just wouldn't work.
Could they meet up and stuff? Yes. But i'd warrant that keeping that connection, keeping the memory intact of the other person as perfect as it was would be worth than the risk of meeting up later and ruining everything with some hidden, guilty shag
Not a lot of people would cry over the end of the movie i guess, but for those who let themselves be affected by the significance of it all(and the words, the words we will never know), it is more emotional than Titanic.
By far.

I can confirm that I cried at the end of Philadelphia as it reminded me of when my father died
