Ya I looked it up, thanks. 89-90 is around when I started following Basketball heavily (I was 10 years old).

Those stat lines are ridiculous under Collins.

It's crazy to think that perhaps the triangle offense actually hindered Jordans overall production. If MJ had played under a different system with him as the vocal point, his overall statistics may have even been more impressive.

Now, that's not to say he would have won more.

I crack up, because this should be a non-issue.

No debate, right?

Yet there are obviously kids out there who dont get it.

Kobe has had explosive scoring spurts in his career where hes done some amazing scoring in games..

JORDAN, MADE THAT HIS ENTIRE CAREER.

No matter what stat you throw out there in comparison, a kobe stat, is always going to be looking upward. Jordan did it, and he did it better in damn near every statistical catagory, along with just flat out being a smarter player.

That IS just the way it is.

pretty much. Michael would've been a great point guard, but he wasn't, because he only played that position for a few games.
Maybe he would've never won 6 rings as a PG. Maybe he would've averaged 12 assist for his career as a pg and won 10 rings..

All I know is that if he had played PG his whole career he would never have been the best SG ever

so.. who knows.. who cares..

If Jordan Played the "1" position... then he'd be an awful mismatch against anyone whose guarding him...

not just becuz of his size advantage but because of his athleticism and talent...

they even placed SF's to guard MJ on the track of his career but he blew past them...

putting MJ on the 1 or 2 spot doesnt matter he'd be effective on both spots...

Note the ridiculous all-around line, excellent A:TO ratio (nearly 3:1) , and offensive efficiency while maintaining solid defensive stats and effort. He continued on in a similar role into the playoffs that year, where he averaged the following numbers in the first two series:

vs. Cleveland (5 games): 39.8 pts/5.8 reb/8.2 ast/3 stl/1 blk/53% FG

vs. NY Knicks (6 games): 35.7 pts/9.5 reb/8.3 ast/3 stl/1 blk/52% FG

Cumulative averages over the final 25 games of the regular season and first two playoff rounds (36 consecutive games in total): 32.7 pts/8.8 reb/9.9 ast/~2.6 stl/1+blk/52+% FG. Insane.

You can set it up where you have one guy in the facilitator role all year long like LA does now with Fisher and Farmer, but its at its best when you're exploiting mismatches by rotating guys around the triangle.

If MJ played the Center position, he would have been the greatest center of all time.

It's true!

Wtf? I thought Jordan's career high with assist was 16?

Anyway, Jordan was unreal. I really wanted to watch that guy play in his prime years. Oh well....

Get over it already, we're talking about MJ, playing the point, and how effective HE could have been.

Could have been is such an interesting phrase, don't you agree?
