Basically if you take Kobe off this team, it is still a possible WCF with Phil Jacksons elite triangle.

This

Kobe has a tendency to shoot them out of wins anyway

All Wade has to do is goad Kobe into a one-on-one matchup making kobe forget his teammates. And that's easy to do with a shot jacker like Kobe.

Wade will totally own Kobe on offense with his speed as he's been blowing by him for years. Kobe will not want to be shown up so he will do stupid things on offense (as no one takes kobe's space away better than Wade) forgetting about his teammates.

kobe can't drive on Wade's great isolation defense ( wade's iso D was number 1 last year for all guards at just 28% FG% for his matchups). And when kobe cant drive he becomes SO SO predictable.

The big problem for Kobe here is Wade is excellent at getting his body under Kobe's non dribbling shoulder (no one else does this to kobe like Wade does) so Kobe can't lift his arms fluidly on his shot jacking.

It will be very easy for Wade to get Kobe totally out of his game forgetting his teammates and messing up all over the place. EASY !!

This. And not to mention that players like Gasol almost always get in if they win multiple titles. Just look at Robert Parish, Gasol is probably a better player than Parish & he is in the hall.

You're just too funny. You're acting as if Kobe couldn't do it to Wade or even, hey, the biggest lil kid in the league, LeBron James.

Right...

To answer your question: Who really knows? We haven't seen what they're capable of. Despite winning the past two NBA Finals, the Lakers have never played up to their potential, mainly because of injuries. It seems fitting that everyone else is finally ready to contribute when Kobe looks as though age is catching up to him (albeit slowly).

2nd round fodder at best. Remember that this team while having the best frontcourt in the league has a weakness in the perimeter where only Kobe can defend his matchup. Fisher is too old any anyone else just plain suck. Barnes coming out from his injury has helped a lot but he's still getting used to playing so it will take time, plus is not like he's a beast at D anyways plus he's a SF(frontcourt). I don't know if they could operate in the offense as well as they do without Kobe though.

You don't bet against LA in the Finals (unless you're betting on BOS) and just being on that stage is easy enough to have mentally weak players such as LeBron and Bosh crumble and play terrible.

The finals a big stage? lol. Lebron has put up with more pressure than anyone who currently plays in the NBA. To come into the NBA as a rookie and handle the hype like he did > playing in the NBA finals at his age now.

I would favor the Heat over the Lakers in the finals. But the Heat ain't makin it to the finals lol. Dunno its an unpredictable and scary team so maybe they could make it.

First read this.

http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=202491

Then suck on this ;-)O

ISOLATION
POSS PTS/POSS FG% AGST TO% AGST
D. Wade 130 0.71 PTS 28.3 FG% 9.2 TO%
T. Sefolosha 248 0.79 PTS 36.8 FG% 11.3 TO%
G. Hill 193 0.83 PTS 41.1 FG% 8.8 TO%
L. James 146 0.60 PTS 30.8 FG% 17.8 TO%
K. Bryant 161 0.79 PTS 36.6 FG% 11.8 TO%
K. Hinrich 160 0.87 PTS 41.4 FG% 9.4 TO%
B. Rush 160 0.83 PTS 39.3 FG% 13.1 TO%
A. Afflalo 155 0.89 PTS 36.2 FG% 11.6 TO%
S. Battier 151 0.82 PTS 36.2 FG% 6.0 TO%
L. M-a Moute 139 0.78 PTS 38.2 FG% 13.7 TO%

The thing is, ALL defensive 1st teams is a popularity contest. Wade has had 3 seasons where his Iso D has prevented matchups at the 27/28% range.

Kobe has NEVER come close to under 30%

Wade has always been a better one-on-one defender than Kobe. Wade is the ALL TIME leader for guards for blocks per game average, since they've kept track of that stat in 1975.

Wade deserves at least 2 or 3 ALL 1st teams defensively. Not the 2nd teams he's been given. He's always been a better defender than Kobe when you scour the defensive synergy stats for overall defense over the past 8 years Wade has been in the league.

Those are the facts

I don't think Heat and LeBron 23 are the same person. LeBron23 doesn't know English, period.

How about the 97 bulls

Jordan
Pippen
Rodman
Kukoc
Harper
Longley
Kerr
Williams
Caffey
Brown

69 wins, possibly 5 hofers jordan, pippen, rodman?, jackson, winter?. 6 if you include parrish. And 7 if kukoc gets in for his contributions in europe
