OP is more right than anyone who's posted in this thread. Williams is a tweener. It's as obvious as day but hype has a way to changing people's opinion until the truth cold smacks them in the grille.

Derrick Williams
-better frame than Beasley
-currently stronger
-finished better in traffic than Beasley(better finisher in general)
-better pick and roll player than Beasley

The only things Beasley does better than Williams are perimeter oriented things like ball handling.
Bro, you do realize this applies to Williams as well?

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Why wont the advantages just there in the NBA. Beasley simply sealed and did go moves in the post. That is what you do to little kids.

Williams has shown both hands in the post and is much stronger than Beasley. This is the same stuff I said last year about Blake.

Williams isnt a tweener because he doesnt have the ability to EVER be a 3 man. He has to be a 4 and if David West can do it than I have no doubt that Williams will be just fine in the league. Guy is an ox and that is going to be more than enough combined with his leaping ability.

Blake is a true power forward with power forward size and power forward skills.

Williams is a hybrid power forward with small foward size and power forward skills.

Williams just stated today he see's himself more as a small forward than power forward.

His words, not mine.

Just leave man. Give Derrick Williams a chance. Michael Beasley is doing fine in the NBA, just not as much as people expected of him. Who cares, he is still making more money, getting more girls and has a better life then you. You're just a troll with no friends. Those two lives don't compare.

Derrick Williams is nothing like any of the players mentioned in this thread already.

Plus Beasley was at another level in college than Williams. I mean Williams is GREAT, seriously, he is an amazing player and could have a great future in this league.

But he hasn't been getting 40/20 games like Beasley was getting in college. Beasley was unreal in college.

Everything about his game and frame screams Michael Beasley. They have some differences but outside that I would have thought Williams was more inclined to accept he's a 4 at the next level but after hearing him say he see's himself at a 3, I have reservations about the guy, just like I did for Beasley.

Williams and Beasley on the college level play near identical games and have the same measurables. The difference I see is Beasley's shot mechanics are much more pure than Williams. Williams plays with a a bit more physicality at the point of attack but Beasley was strong in this area as well.

They're both tweeners, though.

If you cant see that Williams is just physically built different than Williams than you are blind.

The Plumlee brothers are not 1st round picks as of now. And Singler was not big enough at 6'8 to guard Williams. That said, I don't see that much of a difference between Williams and Beasley physically or athletically.

Also Williams plays below the rim for the most part. He's crafty in the very same ways Beasley (both finish very good with their off hand) was but at the end of the day, Williams doesn't have great lift off one foot, so unless he has a chance to gather, being a 6'8 power forward will hurt him.

You all should pay me for this information.

Williams game nearly emulates Iggys when he was @ college.

Hes nothing more than a poor mans iggy. Will be a good role player, possible allstar potential but never franchize leader
