All up to you.
Generally speaking the younger you are the more 'practical' it is to get a little risky with things.

No I'm shooting for $600 with that
If it gets to $600 I'll probably ditch it.

I'm definitely investing in stocks soon when I have the money to spend.

Can being an investor be a full time job working for yourself and starting with a grand or 2? Honestly, I don't know if it is viable as main source of income unless if you have big money to work with or if you work for an investment company that will give you guaranteed flat money for the hours you spend on research, etc and bonuses for good investments.

You're not getting anywhere with a grand or two unless you hit the jackpot like I did but that was two stocks with the perfect storms behind it. Both are in the fingerprint business and since they did business with each other when onegot good news the other followed with it.
Last year one of them had 1000% increase in value. But even with 1 k 1000% only turns into a 9k profit. Which is good but, I would have cried my self to sleep for a year if I only had put 1k in Fingerprint Cards B. Don't be greedy but take risks... It can be worth it.
