Default This week with the Pacers: team is 5-5

PACERS’ RECORD
OVERALL: 5-5
HOME: 2-2
ROAD: 3-3

NEWS & NOTES

· The Pacers have averaged 8.40 spg, which is fourth best in the NBA. While no individual Pacers' player ranks among the league's top 10, there are four Indiana players that are averaging at least one steal a game. Stephen Jackson leads the Pacers with an average of 1.70 spg. Marquis Daniels is second with 1.30 spg, while Jeff Foster has grabbed 1.2 spg and Jamaal Tinsley has had 11 thefts in 10 games.

· The Pacers lead the NBA in blocked shots per game with an average of 6.90 bpg. That figure has the Pacers on course to shatter the team record of 6.46 bpg, which they set during the 1980-81 campaign. Jermaine O'Neal blocked eight shots against the Bucks, Nov. 18, the most by any NBA player this season. O'Neal is second in the NBA (behind Charlottte's Emeka Okafor) with an average of 3.67 bpg for the season.

· Danny Granger leads the Pacers with 17 3-pt FG made this season and he is 16th in the league with a shooting percentage of 44.7 percent from behind the arc. As a team, the Pacers rank 12th in the league, having made 35.3 percent of their 3-pt attempts.

· The third oldest player in the league, Darrell Armstrong has shown he's still got it. Through the first 10 games, Armstrong had shot 14-25 from 3-pt range (.560) and ranked sixth best in the league. In 62 games for the Dallas Mavericks last season, Armstrong made a total of 11 3-pt FGS and made more than one in just one game. He has hit multiple 3-pt FGS four times this season.

· 2007 NBA All-Star balloting presented by T-Mobile has begun. There are four Pacers' players on this year's ballot, including Jermaine O'Neal, Al Harrington, Marquis Daniels and Stephen Jackson. Balloting will continue until Jan. 20. The 2007 NBA All-Star Game will be played at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday, Feb. 18.

This Date in Pacers History - November 22, 2001

Jamaal Tinsley set a franchise record by dealing 23 assists vs. the Washington Wizards. Adding 11 rebounds and 19 points, he was the second Pacers' rookie to ever record a triple-double. His 23 assists are the second most ever by a rookie in the history of the NBA.

QUOTABLE QUOTE

Jermaine O'Neal following the Pacers' loss in Boston, Nov. 15:

"I understand the situation with this team, that we're under the microscope, but we are only eight games in and this is a work in progress. We have to dig away and keep getting better. Last night was the first time we haven't responded coming off a loss. As far as changes, no. I don't think changes need to be made. We just need to figure out a way to be more effective."
