I started my new job last Friday, so far it's been going very well. My co-worker just talks shit about the company all day with me because he's in the IT department with me and they go to him with dumb af requests Congrats OP
Put in my two weeks today. I will be moving on to a Logistics and Operations manager position. It's a significant pay raise, and it's a fast growing company. First thing they want me to do is implement an inventory management system... if I can do that, and build a team, when I move again in a year or so, that'll look real ****ing nice on my resume when I am job hunting again.
Still haven't even finished my degree. Ironically, my fiance went to Miami of Ohio (annual tuition: $30,420) and doubled majored in communications and statistics and now I will be making more than she will.
Don't worry, leftists of ISH, you only have to deal with me for another week and a half; I won't be able to post nearly as much during work hours.
the last guy that bragged about his job here turned out to be a complete tool.
~ How do you handle your two weeks? It's super ****ing awkward now, as my boss and I haven't spoken to each other all morning. Do I pretend like I am going to be here and continue working on holiday issues or...?
~ Also, what am I supposed to do on my last day? Just say 'peace' and dip out or what? I've been here four years now, so I know a lot of people, but I don't like a lot of people. I am still inviting a few from people here to my wedding, but not my boss.
I think you just try to ease the transition as much as possible. Document anything that might be important to your replacement, offload your responsibilities to people and help them learn what to do, etc.
Edit: didn't realize this post was so old so kinda late for advice lol. Anyway, congrats on the new gig.
