Realistic question about the future of the NBA
Will we see them take away the hardwood and replace it with a rug? I think the material would be MUCH easier on players bodies. Tired of seeing guys blow out their ACL and have horrible knee trouble and plantar issues.

Interesting thought.
I wouldn't rule out a surface change, but can't see it happening any time soon.

Decent college freshman
Re: Realistic question about the future of the NBA
would lessen the excitment of the game, the rug or whatever softer surface is used will absorb some of the power from a players jump and reduce their vertical. Westbrook would hardly be able to dunk in that case cos hes only got a poverty 36.5 inch vertical.

Lower the rims to 8 feet plus carpet floor
No jumping needed

Decent playground baller
Re: Realistic question about the future of the NBA
OP may have been serious, but the NBA would not realistically consider this.

They probably will change the surface at some point. I doubt it will be to a "rug" tho.
