It's no coincidence that his TS% and ORTG saw a HUGE jump upward as soon as he joined the Lakers. That happens when you join up with the best offensive player in the world.

It's amazing how little credit he gets for instantly meshing with Pau. Literally from their very first game together...they looked like they had been playing together for years. The synergy was off the charts.

If not for Gasol, Kobe might only have 3 rings and 0 FMVP's. If not for Kobe, Gasol might have 0 rings and only be a borderline HOFer. Either way, that's a pretty significant drop in status for each player.
