Default Charlotte's weakness

Most of you should know that Richardson's gone to Phoenix, as well as Dudley. Boris Diaw and Raja Bell are coming as part of the deal.

Now Larry Brown is making the Cats pure defenders, as you can see Bell and Diaw are more renowned about their defensive ability.

But do you believe that Brown is capable of what he has been doing? of what he is famous of?

His tenure in New York was notorious, but I personally don't blame him. The Knicks HAD bad team chemistry (e.g. Marbury was ordered not to get close to his team)

With J-Rich's departure, Charlotte has lost its best offensive weapon, something Carroll, Morrison, and Bell can't replace.

Hence, the hope of this team lies on its defence, and it lacks another quality big man, (by big I mean as big as Ilgauskas or Kaman, Yao's an outlier)

Overall, if Charlotte can acquire a good center and put Okafor back to his natural position, PF, you can count on this team due to its defensive strength.

P.S. I hate to see Charlotte spending so much money on bench players; for instance, Carroll and Mohammed, who add up to over $10 million for the next three years.

Mek is not a PF, he's an undersized C.

I see Okafor as a center too. He has pretty much played center all his life, ,and he isn't that undersized as a C these days. Truth be told, he does get overpowered a little against the really big guys, but he'll just have to work with that and become a little more tenacious. Offensively he is even less effective as a power forward, because he still doesn't have any range at all. But he is a very good defender and rebounder. So he makes more sense as a center, being the defensive anchor and number one rebounder.

The main problem with Charlotte right now is first of all lack of quality. You compare our core to that of other teams and it just isn't enough to hang out with most teams.

But what keeps us from being at least a solid competitor that may slip into the playoffs I don't know. It really seems that the only nights Charlotte can win right now are those night when shots are just falling.
