Default Jahlil Okafor is the new Kyrie

The kid from Duke that everyone said would be nothing special. Even though they were skilled as **** and shat on their competition.

Al Jefferson? Nikka please, this kid can be the next Duncan

You do realize that Kyrie is a career loser, right?

Bruh he made it to the finals in his 4th year

Not everyone can be drafted to a stacked team like Kobe

    Kyrie is a 3-time all-star who can get you 22/4/7 a game...

Here's the flaw in your comparison:

Kyrie as an offensively-talented and defensively-deficient PG is much easier to hide on defense than a similarly skilled center in Jahlil.

Tim Duncan could rebound, pass, shoot, defend...Okafor can't do any of that even in the same universe as Duncan. Anyone who scoffs at the comparison of Big Al from the standpoint of having amazing low post abilities but nothing much else to add doesn't know basketball.

I think Okafor's ceiling is a rich man's Big Al. I actually think you're underrating Jahlil's passing out of the post. Maybe stats indicate otherwise, but he shows lots of patience and craftiness in getting guys open looks imo. He's also a great offensive rebounder, but bad defensive rebounder, so there's that.

Okafor may have post-up PPP of Duncan in a few years but he's not close to the defender Timmy was and Idk how much improvement you typically see in rebounding as a guy ages.

Towns is the guy in this class who's closer to Duncan than Okafor.

Yea a terrible defensive point guard in a league that is PG heavy is much easier to hide then a bad center. Plus Jahlil has Nerlens to help cover his mistakes

Okafor can rebound and pass, tf you on nigga

He can work on his shooting and defense as he gets older and loses weight

I'll give you the passing stuff. I don't think he will be terrible in that sense. But as a Wolves fan and going through the Big Al and Love sagas, I loathe big men who are supposed to be the teams best player and yet ate complete horse crap on defense

Hell I even think Okafor well be ROY. Ppg wins ROY and he should easily lead in that category.

lol come on, really son? A center isn't dominant defensively solely b/c of his ability to defend 1-on-1, he's dominant because of the ability to alter shots and be a force in the paint as the team's last line of defense.

Therefore the disparity in position talent pool isn't much relevant.

Okafor does alter shots and has a big ass frame. That alone helps, he just sucks at defending 1 on1

Plus he has Noel next to him which will mask his deficiencies
