Default Derrick Rose's back continues to bother him

When it first occurred, Derrick Roseís lower back spasms were a mild concern, but not something viewed as a long-term situation. Now, itís a serious issue.

ď[Itís been going on for a] couple of games. It started ó first time I remember it happening was in high school ó but college, I didnít have it. First couple of years, I didnít have it. Just all of a sudden, it just happened now and hopefully tomorrow, meet with some people and try to figure something out,Ē a downcast Rose said before Sundayís contest against the Celtics, which he sat out of. ďIt was the whole trip, but I just played through it. The more I played through it, it tended to get worse after every game. At the time, I was really worried about it, but just tried to stay positive and hopefully Iíll be all right.

ďI donít know the diagnosis. I donít know what to call it, but I just know my back is not right,Ē continued the Eastern Conference All-Star starter, who was seen being stretched out on the sideline during the second game of the Bullsí nine-game road trip, in Washington. ďI donít remember [when it started]. It just came from out of nowhere, man. Thatís the scary thing about it.

ďThroughout this whole trip, itís been bothering me. If you see me during the game or whenever Iím out of the game, Iím always getting stretched and Iím usually not getting stretched at all, unless itís before the game. It was getting tight then, but I was able to play through it and it was getting worse the longer I was playing.Ē

That sucks. The Bulls are good enough to have him sit out a few games though. Hopefully, he get better and comes back at 100%.

They need to sit him down for a few weeks. There's no reason to push it.

Back spasm's are tricky. Everyone has a different reaction. Most of the time, a slight change in diet and making a few stretches part of your routine will cure the problem. Sometimes you do need a great deal of rest and to go on a regime of anti-inflammatories before you can even get treatment outside of just a conversation.

Hopefully it's something that doesn't continue to be an issue.

Extra rest, then using the All-Star weekend to get some more rest. Not shocking to not see him out there the last few nights.
