I want Memo back because of his post defense and match up potentials on the other end.
Memo wants a bigger contract, and he wants it in Utah. He said he would be willing to take 5M less total if the offer came from Utah, so I think his strategy will be to get offers from other teams to drive up his value in Utah. Bad strategy to announce your willingness to take a lower offer from Utah though, since teams will be less interested in giving you an offer in the first place.
Does this mean Boozer wants to opt out also to compete with Memo for Utah's salary cap money? Or will he wait until 2010 and go elsewhere (since our salary will be tied up with Millsap and Memo)?
Korver can opt out. We have swingmen and we need dollars. I'll miss his shot, charge taking ability, and recovery blocks, but I won't miss his broken handle or slow motion lateral quickness. He's banking on being a fan favorite and the only swingman with a good jumper, but he isn't going to win a salary with that in Utah this year. Surprising if it actually happens.
