Default stats say this lakers team one for the ages?

im as critical of john hollinger as one can be, but its hard to dislike him when he comes up with something like this.

i take exception to his leaving the games gasol was injured out of his calculation, and most importantly this team hasnt WON A CHAMPIONSHIP, nor have they stood the test of time but...

its an interesting read nonetheless. i guess this team, statistically, has been doing something pretty special.

saw that too yesterday, interesting read but I wouldn't take too much out of it. As always with him, it's nothing more than stats, and he's even leaving the games Gasol was injured out. The fact that we are doing all this without Bynum is much more impressive imo.

I'll take this as a positive sign though since Hollinger was spot on with his predictions on the Nuggets & Jazz series. People called him dumb for putting Lakers in 5 over the Spurs, but if we can steal one on the road he won't look so dumb anymore. Still early days of course...

I like Hollinger, Ma and all those stat gurus articles. Its hard to refute factual numbers. I am a numbers guy and a breast man.

Pretty good article.

Imagine how we will be once we get healthy Bynum back. Holy sh*t, Bynum, Gasol, Odom, Kobe, Fisher. Just thinking of that gives me the goosebumps. Now Odom just has to get a good jump-shot over the summer and we will be unstoppable. Hell, if everyone is healthy the entire season, he might have a shot at that 72 win season that Jordan and the Bulls once had.

Great article! Nonetheless, it still hinges on Kobe's presence and his health and team health. Without him, they likely fall apart. Just like Houston's Yao (th Sun) or McGrady (the Moon)...they can almost never be together for long due to injury.
