Some guy from where I grew up from got caught for killing someone and being connected to 3 other murders. It makes me laugh seeing his friends and family members doing the “free x” acting like he was a saint

Nah **** that shit, let him rot in jail

I don't think I saw rape listed there.

If I know any rapists they kept it to themselves and never went to jail for it.

Guy from the OP got 9 years but his co-defendant got 454 months(about 37 years).

Do you think that's fair, on any level?

Do you think that prevents crime, gives relief to victims, rehabilitates the convicts, any of sort?

US justice system sounds like nightmare...

Prison, for all it is, can be the best thing to ever happen to someone if they look themselves in the mirror and actually look at themselves for the first time. Prison wasn't rock bottom for me, it was becoming a drug addict about halfway thru the six years I served.

And it all had to happen for me to become who I am today. And the most beautiful thing about it, is that I can be proud of who I've become, and to recognize that as truth... but at the same time knowing that I'm far from a finished product. And that's what drives me towards tomorrow.

Prison saved my life and helped make me a good man. When I stood for nothing before it all.

He told. Simple as that. Sung like a canary. It's what makes the system go round.

I wouldn't disagree with the statement. It's a shallow one, however. Like, street wisdom.

You made me reread all this and it's not like Blaze gave his thoughts in length, as he does with obscure subjects. So maybe.

It's not shallow. It's the truth, bud. It's why the Feds in particular have just north of a 98% conviction rate. Snitching is a vicious circle and it's how the system maintains itself. Dudes roll on their own blood to get time off.

Again, not that I disagree with it. It's just there is so much more to ponder behind it.

I mean what you're talking is like a back-of-an-envelope economical/marxist analysis. And you cannot add much to that, because it ends. That is it. A standalone unit of understanding. Can we transcend and think about it.

That's a beautiful story of rehabilitation bro.

But it's not prison that deserves the credit.
