This is a real stunner to me. I completely respect West putting his principles ahead of money, and I really admire that... but whoa.

I mean this dude didnt feast on endorsement money in his career (that Im aware of) and I dont think he ever got a max contract. Sure he's made millions, but not hundreds of them like Wade or Melo or CP3 etc. To turn down the chance to make 12 million in a year for him def made me do a double take. But again, good for him, gotta respect that hes obviously been smart with what hes already earned and it affords him the chance to go and pursue something for passion rather than dollars.

That's wanting something REAL bad. Don't think I would turn down $10+m for a ring. Wonder if the situation in INDY was that bad - must have been frustrating - they were so competitive in the East (one dumb decision by Vogel - leaving Hibbert off the court).

The guy is turning 35 soon, probably tired of losing in playoff appearances, and maybe sees the light at the end of the tunnel getting bigger (retirement looming). Let the guy change his mind if he wants.. It's not that much different than Antonio McDyess coming to the Spurs a handful of years ago.
