Default David Lee to the Lakers

What do you think?

He could give them good interior rebounding.

David Lee would be great... as a last resort...

I love the guy and if hes payed less than 10 mil.. he would be like a different type of L.O. with the way he rebounds... but I doubt hell be as versatile....

So yes but no, only as a last resort...

he's looking for some money.. the knicks want to keep him but the most they will go is 7 million

Quote:
Indications are Walsh's threshold for Lee is $7 million per year for six years. Teams under the salary cap have enough room to top that number, including Portland, Memphis, Atlanta, Detroit, Oklahoma City, Sacramento, Toronto and Minnesota.

I wouldn't even think Lee is considering the Lakers. He's a solid starter in this league and the Lakers have Gasol & Bynum. Starters make more money. He's still young and will have another contract to play for after this one.

big tuna has an OK reputation so far
Default Re: David Lee to the Lakers

i highly doubt he'd consider LA, the two don't mesh well. he's got a midrange shot at the most, doesn't handle the ball particularly well and doesn't help LA space the floor when running the triangle. imagine how clogged the lane would be if he was on at the same time as gasol & bynum. then imagine him taking minutes from either of them and then we'd have roughly 35-40 mill/year split between the three of them. too expensive for a backup

where he'd help the most is when kobe isos since he's great a crashing the boards

Yeah, I agree. You would not be able to start Lee with Gasol+Bynum. Lee is a PF in this league so I don't see what the point is of bringing in Lee with Gasol here and perhaps Odom staying? Forget about it.
