Default Ted Ginn jr trade to 49ers for 5th round pick

Solid trade for the niners imo. This eliminates us wasting a pick on a KR/PR early in the draft and we can go a different route instead. I'm 100% sure the Niners will draft a DB/OL with their 1st rounders, no spiller. We needed a returner in the worst way. He also gives us a deep threat, speedster something we also lack. Crabs/Morgan/Ginn is a nice young tandem.

... I figured they would move him to the slot and give him short speed routes. What are the Dolphins needs? Would they draft another WR?

I saw this earlier, was gonna make a thread about it, but didn't figure it was thread worthy LOL!

Ginn is basically a solid returner, but not a great WR. 5th round pick is ok for both sides, I guess.

And the Dolphins don't necessarily have to take a WR. I'm sure they will, but they won't take one with a top pick. They have Marshall, Bess, Fasano, Camarillo. I'm sure they'll take someone in the 3rd or 4th.

Well now...that first round pick really didn't work out so well for the Fins after all.

Didn't a lot of people say they shouldve drafted Brady Quinn? Looks like that would've been a mistake too.

i like, its not quite brandon marshall but im glad the 49ers have made an upgrade at WR, he should work in the slot and give crabtree a bit more freedom, would still like to see them add a "big" reciever, like 6'4 or 6'5,

This trade makes me wonder if they're looking more at DB/OL in the first round instead of drafting Spiller. I feel now we're looking at Joe Haden/Earl Thomas if they drop and then an big OL guy with the first two.

Even with this trade, they still need someone to throw to them. Alex Smith certainly isn't the answer. Are they going to hand it over to Carr?!?

Alex Smith may not be an elite QB but he's hardly a problem. Not sure if you watched Alex Smith lately but he had a good season last year. There are no immediate upgrades so run with him for now. He can get Ginn and others the pigskin. And David Carr is trash.

Alex did ok last year because he was the backup with no pressure. Now that he's a starter again, he'll run into the same problem he did before. You need someone who can handle the pressure at quarterback and I don't think he can do that.

I don't think Carr is the answer either, but the question is which would be the lesser of two evils?
