Default Bosh Day-to-Day with Knee Injury

Quote:
A sore knee kept Chris Bosh out of Raptors practice here Tuesday morning.

Team officials said Bosh "tweaked" his left knee during a practice last week in Treviso, Italy. Bosh is being listed as day-to-day.

"I have to rest it," Bosh said Tuesday. "I would like to practice but I have to think about the big picture."

Bosh, who couldn't remember when he banged his knee in practice in Treviso, also isn't sure he'll be able to play in Thursday's game here against Real Madrid.

"I could play but I have to take into account it's the pre-season. No disrespect to the teams we're playing but it is the pre-season."

Bosh, 23, tweaked his left knee during a practice in Treviso, Italy last week. The pain and fluid build-up worsened to the point where he has not been able to practice this week, although he did say that it felt a little better yesterday than it did on Tuesday.

"We're just trying to rest it for the moment and then trying to think of an approach to handle it the right way," he said, adding that a firm diagnosis still hasn't been made or, at least, announced.

I like the move to keep him out of action, its pre-season, he's shown that he's in shape and seems as though he's gotten rid of any off-season rust.

The core of the team is basically the same so it's not like this is going to hurt the progression of chemistry. Hopefully he's back at 100% for the opening tip to start off the season.

Didn't Bosh say just a couple of days ago that he really wanted to get the practices and games in this year? As opposed to last year where the plantar fac...(foot thing) forced him off his game and a bad start. His words.

Poor start for Bosh to be expected then?

Whats better.. playing in high tempo pre-season games with an injury, or waiting for your injury to heal before risking making it worse.

The Raps still have a pre-season game at home, he'll more than likely play there, it's just a precaution.

Second, a knee tweak does not come close in comparison to the seriousness of plantar fasciatis. Don't expect this injury to effect Bosh at all unless he forces a comeback.

Good God, we really need Bosh inorder for our team to be competetive. He better be healthy by the time regular season rolls around.

Chris Bosh's pre-season will be greatly abbreviated.

Raptor coach Sam Mitchell said today his all-star power forward will not play in Wednesday's game against Lithuania's Zalgiris Kaunas and will likely miss Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls as well.
