Well the thing is, every year that same question is asked because of the lack of a set in stone criteria. Is it a celebration of individual talent? Is it a celebration of individual talent that leads to team success? Can it be a player who puts up great numbers on a poor team, or player who puts up good numbers on a great team? They seem to use different reasonings for each player selected. For instance, I remember that one year when 4 Pistons made the reserves and everyone was kind of like, huh? Their individual numbers aren't even that great. So I think that the biggest factor in general usually tends to be team success over individual success.. Not always, but the majority of the time.

I'm sure it does, however Gary Payton and C-Webb actually made a good point one night recently. Why punish a player who's having a great season because his teammates, management, ownership and/or coaching is inept or injuries have struck? He really has no control over those things.

Meanwhile Lee is on a Knicks team who many predicted to be the worst team in the East and yet they are battling for the playoffs despite:
a. salary dumps of their best players for 2010
b. useless players like Marbury, J.James, E.Curry, C.Mobley, A.Roberson taking up 1/3 of their roster.

If anything NY has overacheived, Lee has overacheived and been extrordinarily consistent.

What has Mo Williams done?

Oh, that's right he was traded to team who has been in the finals and a contender come playoff team for the last couple of seasons. They're finally having a regular season indicative of their true talent, since they haven't had any trades, chemistry has been there and injuries have not been overwhelming.
IMO with or without Mo Williams this team would still be one of the elite teams in the league as they have shown the past couple of years.

Cavs injuries haven't been overwhelming? Are you crazy? Name a team more banged up. Mo has made significant changes to his game, namely his defense. But anyways, whatever, Z should have been chosen over Mo.

Z, D.West, and some others right?
But no I don't think the injuries have been overwhelming especially when you compare it to what some other teams have dealt with.

Wasn't it last season they had to deal with...

Pavlovic and Varejo's holdouts?
The major trade?
And some injuries like Gibson's?

They still managed to pull it together and show how good they were in the playoffs against Boston.

This team was elite and has been elite before this season, they just haven't turned it on in the regular season like this year, they used to in the playoffs though.

This is the 3rd year the Cavs have been a championship contender and they would have been without Mo Williams.

West / Gibson / E.Snow
Wally / Pavlovic / D.Jones
LBJ / Kinsey
B.Wallace / J.Smith / Hickson
Ilguaskas / Varejeo / Wright

I'm sure would be a contender as well had the trade not went down. They were last season.

Stern felt bad Mo eating Kobe shoe, so he gave it to him Hopefully that'll increase more rating and give Kobe time to show Mo the other shoe on All-star game.

Delonte West was playing just as well as MO before going down...
Check out Mike Bibby he never made the All Star game and you don't see any Kings player crying over that (despite better numbers and record). Geez.

im very confused. u have a player like emeka okafor, who's very deserving aswell, that doesn't get the nod.

im a cavs fan, but giving up the only big they had on the bench for mo williams. its stupid.

lucky enough mike brown can run a small offense.
