I think I'll roll with the Admiral on this one, despite Karl Malone constantly KOing him in 96 and 98 in the playoffs.

you forgot Malone's elbows. That easily vaults him above Robinson, Thomas, and a handful of a few other players in any head to head comparison.

Robinson was the better player, Malone couldn't dream of having the defensive impact Robinson did. Karl just happened to be blessed with better teammates. Although Malone may have had the better career because his longevity is incredible.

On defense - Robinson
Offense - Malone
Overall, I think I would take Robinson because you could always use a great scoring/defensive C.

Admiral by a mile. Also one of the only people to record a quad-double in modern day statistical scoring.

Karl Malone. Excluding his MVP season, Malone was better than Robinson almost every year of their careers. Robinson failed miserably in the playoffs before Duncan came along. He could not even reach the NBA finals.

Malone also failed a good amount of times, plus It's not clear who was the leader in Utah. It was obvious Malone got most of the credit though. As Scottie Pippen said, The Mailman doesn't deliver on Sundays

David Robinson because his career high in points is 72pts while Karl Malone's career high was only 61pts
