Default Team USA U-19 beasting in europe... 5-0 record

The best record so far, even beat the team that embarrassed them a couple of days ago. Tim hardaway jr and jeremy lamb have came up big in every game.

Quote:
jeremy Lamb of national champion Connecticut scored 35 points, including a baseline jumper with 1.5 seconds left in overtime, to lead the United States to a 107-105 victory over Lithuania on Tuesday in the second round of FIBA's Under 19 World Championship. The U.S. (5-0) led 94-86 with 37 seconds left in regulation, but Lithuania (3-2) tied the game at 94 on a goaltending call with 1.7 seconds to play.

Florida's Patric Young had two three-point plays in the overtime, helping erase a six-point deficit for the U.S.

After Lamb's tie-breaking jumper Lithuania called a timeout, but missed a desperation 3-point attempt.

The defending champion U.S. ends the second round against Croatia (3-2) on Wednesday.

Winning by 8 with 37 seconds left, and they barely escape with a win? Come on now.

That was a meaningless exhibition game played in Lithuania.

Croatia will probably beat us tomorrow since we've already clinched the group and Paul Hewitt wants to give the guys at the end of the bench minutes.

Why are you guys surprised? B-ball is one of Americas national sports and there is like 300 million people living there. In Europe, the countries are much smaller and Basketball is a sport way down in popularity. Somewhere in between curling and sack racing.

I found it.

Keith Appling (Michigan State); James Bell (Villanova); Anthony Brown (Stanford); Jahii Carson (incoming freshman at Arizona State);Tim Hardaway, Jr. (Michigan); Joe Jackson (Memphis); Jeremy Lamb (Connecticut); Meyers Leonard (Illinois); Khyle Marshall (Butler); Javon McCrea (Buffalo); Doug McDermott (Creighton); Tony Mitchell (North Texas); and Patric Young (Florida).

Lamb, Young, Hardaway and Meyers Leonard are all guys I like. I'm a little surprised this roster is playing this well though.

Your point?

A lot of the our better players at that age elected not to play (Sullinger, Barnes, Terrence Jones).

A win is a win. Everyone wanted to crack jokes when we were getting waxed in exhibition play. Now, people are trying to hate on wins.
