Well judging from the lakers in my era that I've seen play live in person and on tv will be my alltime lakers 5, so digging up historical stats on yesterdays HOF's (west, wilt and elgin) and comparing them with todays greats(kobe & shaq) wouldn't be a fair assessment on my behalf considering I've never seen yesteryears greats play live except on nba's greatest games on nba tv and sometimes on espn.s classic games.

PG -EARVIN "MAGIC" JOHNSON- Best passer ( along w/stockton) to ever play the game, all-time lakers assist leader, great courtvision, big time clutch performer and scorer, motivational leader and a floor general at 6'9 who could play all 5 positions.

SG-KOBE "BEAN" BRYANT- NBA's best (current) clutch performer, nba's scoring champion,3 nba championships, lakers 2nd all-time leading scorer(next to kareem) and franchise player.Holds NBA's 2nd alltime highest scoring output (81 pts in a single game only behind wilts' 100 pts).

C--SHAQUILLE ONEAL- The most feared and dominating player( physically) at center to ever play the game of basketball.

PF-KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR--Although pf not being his natural position how could you not include kareem as the lakers greatest alltime 5. Lakers never had a dominating pf in the 80's although they had solid blue collar pf's in A.C.GREEN, KURT RAMBIS, and BOB McAdoo who was versatile at c and pf used for his scoring and known as a finess playa just like kareem, that's why I inserted kareem at pf and shaq as my dominating ceter.

PF- "BIG GAME JAMES" WORTHY-Had the quickest 1st step in the game and his post-up moves were deadly, a big time clutch performer and scorer, with his size and quickness james filled the lanes exceptionally well (during fast breaks) then he glides in palming the ball with one big hand and then he swoops towards the basket always finishing strong with a thunderous dunk.
