I don't know if it will make both teams good, but with the way things are those two teams need a change.

Seattle are trying to put together the worst defensive team of all time if they start Lewis, Durant and Ridnour. Green should be pretty good, but he cant make up for a bunch of guys who arent any good.

I think there will be a S&T for Lewis. I also think Ridnour will get traded. Don't know for who though.

So here's the squad so far, without knowing the new players:

pg West. /Watson. I like Watson. Very nice player. Can score, and he can defend.
sg Wally. / Wilkins. Wilkins could start early. He's a very decent player
sf Durant. / Green.
pf Wilcox. He's much better at pf than at C. / Sene
c Swift. He showed great promise before the injury. / Petro

I think this is more like what we will see from Seattle. Add Collison there too - he's handy - maybe even starting in front of (injury prone) Swift.

Maybe S&T with Magic for Darko and Nelson/Arroyo plus picks (heard management aren't keen on Nelson, though Arroyo seems to work best off the bench - it is an international BBall year). Would love it if they got Sheed somehow

BTW Loot, is your Avatar Willis, Manning, Big Smooth? It's gold

Ok. Let's get a couple of things clear before I give my 2 cents.

1. Kevin Durant will not play PF for at least another 2-3 years if ever, and frankly he is for all intents and purposes a SG who just happens to be very tall and aggressive on the boards.

2. Jeff Green is a much more viable option at the PF slot being 235 pounds if 1 of the 2 rooks end up playing there.

3. Wally Sczerbiak will not be a factor on this team. He is not in the mold that Sam Presti is building around. He's to short to defend SF's and too damn slow for SG's. At most Presti will keep Wally around until his salary dumps and he'll just use him as a reserve and spot shooter as well as some "veteran leadership". Personally I wouldn't let that fruitcake set foot in my locker room.

4. The trades aren't even close to over this summer for the Sonics.

Thus.....

this is the kind of lineup I would expect on opening day. At least it's what I would I would try to make happen

1. PG Carlos Arroyo/Earl Watson*
SG Kevin Durant/Damien Wilkins/Wally's World (*******!)
SF Damien Wilkins/Jeff Green/Mikael Gelabale*
PF Chris Wilcox/Nick Collison/Jeff Green/Petro
C Darko Milicic/Robert Swift/Petro/Sene

* I think the Sonics might do a sign and trade sending Rashard Lewis along with Luke Ridnour and Saer Sene or some other worthless crap like Petro to the Magic for Carlos Arroyo, Darko Milicic and a couple of draft picks. It's all possible because of the Magics cap space.

here is another possibility

trade Jeff Green, Wally's World, Ridnour, Sene and Petro and possibly some future picks in a 3 team deal with the Magic and the Hawks or another team and then you might end up with something really nice. If they did that and kept Rashard they and pulled in a solid point guard as well as a young big like Darko.

IMO this is a 2nd round playoff team in the west in 3 years 2 deep.

Carlos Arroyo/Watson
Kevin Durant/Damien Wilkins
Rashard Lewis/Mikael Gelabale
Chris Wilcox/Nick Collison/
Darko Milicic/Robert Swift

At any rate Presti better not **** up with his trades or else he's gonna be living in cow **** Oklahoma after next season!!

I totally forgot about Nick Collison, and I like him a lot as a player. He should be starting at center.

btw, yes you're right. Willis, Manning, Perkins. Three of my favorite oldies.

i think this is the underlying motivation for blowing up the team this year--- get a totally new look for a new city

'shard is a s&t--- bet the house on it

ridnour is probably gone too as delonte has upside

i am exited to see the sonics with kd;

i am depressed because i cant see kd being enough to get us an arena to keep the team in the seattle area
