How would guys like Kobe, T-Mac, Garnett done in college?
Seeing Kevin Durant play in college makes me think how dominant players like Kobe, T-Mac, Garnett, Jermaine O'Neal, all the guys who became stars after going straight from high school to the NBA, would've been if they'd gone to college instead. Would they all have completely dominated? Or would it have taken a year or two for them to develop?
I really wish there was a rule in effect back then too. Most of these guys came in and their rookie seasons in the NBA weren't fun to watch, and it would've been a lot more fun watching them in the NCAA tourney instead.
It could've also created some interesting matchups. If KG had played as a sophomore in college we could've seen Kobe, KG, and Jermaine O'Neal in the same NCAA tournament. Then T-Mac would've come in the following year and he could've played with Vince Carter and Jamison. And on and on.
Seems like we were robbed of a whole generation of great college basketball.
Sorry if I'm rambling a bit, but which players do you think would've straight up dominated from day one and which would take some time?
