Yeah Brand I couldn't see coming and he'd want a bit much anyway I imagine. Shame he's the only one.

It's true we don't nessarsarily need another starting big behind Okafor if we split PF mins between say Herrmann and Dudley in the future playing the fast break smallball style but neither May or Brezec for me could back him up if he got injured and play as the only big or even swapping styles to a typical formation with nobody to back them up. They'd be fine if Okafor stays healthy all season but that's a big gamble currently.

I take the point about not needing a starter then if that were to be our style we fully commit to (which I'd love too), but we'd still need a solid back-up behind Okafor instead of McMay or Brezec and I'd feel more comfortable with a vet than a project non lottery pick. Who knows though maybe we can somehow get Roy Hibbert as a more experienced big-man out of college, who'd be a decent career back-up I expect and not have to worry about recruiting a vet while paying less for a few yeas too.

Well Marion, Jermaine O'Neal and Brand can all terminate their contracts. I'd like to see possibly Jermaine finally get fed up with the Pacers opt out and then see a sign and trade to us. I know it would be tricky with all the salary cap crap, but I do know that anything is possible (salary wise) if you want to make it work.
