Noel is an athletic freak. The type of raw talent that would go #1 overall is some drafts. If he's properly motivated, this guy can be a devastating defender, rim protector and rim roller. He has that KG type build and athleticsm.

Philly is once again dumb because everyone now knows they want to move guys, which lowers their leverage. Lakers should be trying hard to get this guy. You just can't teach what this guy has.

Noel's ceiling is the next Marcus Camby. Okafor > Noel.

Because you can't play Okafor and Noel together in the modern NBA and be successful. One of your forwards has to be able to shoot.

Noel can go to any team who is weak at center. I'm sure the Mavs,Lakers,Blazers, etc would love him. Noel will command some money next year. 15-20 mil a season.

Okafor has better upside but fewer teams could use him. Half court oriented offensives.

How many more times will they continue to re-build?

Instead of focusing on who they want to trade shouldn't they be thinking about who they want to add? A team with a vision of how they want to build would be making potential trades based on players they think will fit their desired style. If you are just saying that you are willing to deal your top talents it will get offers but shouldn't they have an idea of who they want and be making phone calls to try and get them, seeing what teams want in return and then going from there? Might as well have let Hinke continue doing his thing. This is right in line with his style.

They shouldn't trade Oak. Just get Brandon Ingram and hope for a new age Kobe and shaq.

I don't even think I'd do Clarkson for Noel straight-up. Adding in Lou (who is a shit player to be fair) and a pick seems like too much.

Actually they played well together once they got Ish Smith. The big problem early in the year was they had no PG, but that was done on purpose with the intention of being awful.

They're waiting until he's healthy so they can trade him too

He's worth more. Lou Williams doesn't have much value b/c he's a bench chucker and Clarkson is a RFA, meaning he can't be moved unless it's a S&T situation.

Noel is a great athlete for a C, has an above avg REB% when he's playing C, and has been very good defensively when healthy and playing C. He checked out way too much this year playing PF on both ends alongside Jah though. Also he had some nagging type injuries it seemed.

He's a full time 5 basically. He has above avg vision offensively for a C, can't catch a non-lob pass, and can be bullied in the post. But he thrives defending in space and protecting the rim.

Hinkie caught flak for never leaking stuff to the media, but his trades were always a surprise, and he thus got excellent value.

I agree that being this candid with your strategy only hurts your bargaining position.

76er fans, any news on Okafor/Noel?

I would love Noel on the Lakers. What would you guys take? Heard Embiid worked out today and he might be ready to go which would make Noel more tradeable?

Clarkson is nothing but a very good 1st guard off the bench or below average starter. Noel is a KG type athletic freak. Dude can be a monster if properly motivated. They aren't even in the same ball park in terms of value.
