Tell me something.

IF Ingram is going to have a great season AND LeBron is going to have a great season AND Lonzo will be good AND Hart will have a great season... I could continue...

What are your expectations for this Laker team? How many wins? WCF? Finals? Championship? Because if LeBron is going to IMPROVE on last year's playoffs AND he will have very good to great teammates... So I'd like to know your take.

To be honest, its kind of a wide expectation because of so many question marks. What I ABSOLUTELY EXPECT? Well here it is:

- Playoffs
- 2nd round
- Ingram to light up and show people why he can be the #2
- Kuzma will click in everything he has trained this off season throughout the season, he's got a lot on his plate to adjust too. I think he's going to come out big eventually this season.
- Hart is going to show why he should be ending the game at the 2 spot.
- Lonzo will have a greater season than last season and I think he'll be VERY impressive especially on the defensive end (Ingram as well)
- LeBron probably wins MVP or top 2

How many wins am I personally predicting? I want to say 50-53 wins.

Here's where I am probably a bit delusional and enamoured by our potential but I could see us making the finals if everything clicks. Thats obviously the best case scenario. That means everyone finds their roles quickly, LeBron excels, the young guys show massive improvement and the vets are producing well on the court. The potential is exciting because we could possibly destroy last year's #1 paced team and we have some good defensive potential as well. Our center positon is weak but we are 2 deep at every other position. Dont be surprised if Lakers pick up a C somewhere throughout the season (waives or G-league steal). But Lonzo/Rondo, Hart/KCP, Ingram/Stephenson, LeBron / Kuzma and Mcgee means we are going to be playing HIGH paced ALL game which is exactly what Magic said 5 months ago. It's going to be FAST and EXCITING once the team gels (December and forward).

Worse case? Well I still expect playoffs. Maybe this team doesnt gel, maybe LeBron becomes a bitchboi again and cries, maybe the young guns don't show "THE STUFF" and we get bounced 1st round. I dont think that will happen either.

What I predict? Depending on seedings. We lose to Warriors at some point in the playoffs but LeBron and some of the young guys show off very well in the playoffs (i expect a lot of them to not be shook on the bigstage) and beat out the other teams to WCF. Warriors make it to the finals but it'll be an exciting buzz around the team knowing we showed up to compete with Warriors in our 1st year.

LeBron better than last year, especially last playoffs? Plus Ingram being great himself? A 20-25 ppg scorer on good defense? Plus Kuzma, Hart playing well? Lonzo?

And STILL only 53 wins?

Something doesn't add up.

No one should be winning an MVP with 53 wins. I don't see the Lakers finishing top 4, but they will make the playoffs. Their goal should be to finish ahead of 7-8th.

I actually agree with this. Bare minimum for me.

Rational Laker fan here,

No way Lebron will have a better season than last (though he might not necessarily be worse either).

And the fact is Ingram, Lonzo, Kuzma were all very inconsistent last season and I don't see why that should necessarily change this year. I see the biggest improvement with Ingram, marginal improvement with Lonzo, and skeptical on Kuzma (he seems lost in this offense). This is still a 36-40 win team without Lebron. But Lebron probably adds 8-10 wins this season. This is a 45-50 win team that'll be a VERY dangerous 6-8 seed team with Playoff Lebron and Playoff Rondo in the mix.
