In terms of being a generational fan favorite? A lot of people my age ~23-25 favorite player was Wade. Like a lot. Probably only second to Kobe and I would argue the Wade fans I know are very very knowledgable about the game.
Kobe fans on the other hand lol... I used to barhop with a Kobe and another LeBron fanboy. They almost went to blows over a stupid argument at a bar about who was the better jump shooter.
I have Wade equal to Dirk overall...Wade has more rings but meh. Dirk would have 4 rings if Lebron went to Dallas instead of Miami.
Wade would have another FMVP and ring as the number one option and Dirk would have zero of either if not for Lebron's no show in the 2011 finals. Yes, Drik had a great run throughout the 2011 playoffs, but it's funny that all it took was one all time run to erase the fact that he was part of all time chokes in 2006 against the Heat and 2007 against the Warriors with the best record in the NBA. Interestingly, I'd argue that Lebron has done more to reverse his soft/choke label in multiple seasons post 2011. Meanwhile, all it took was one good run by Dirk to shed his soft label.
