Agreed, i never really ever liked Isiah, he was the better ball player, no doubt, but i hated his game, he was selfish in my eyes, i loved the way dumars played, defensive minded, great team man, and now look what he has done for the pistons as the GM, dumars is by far my favourite...

This was one of the best summers of GMing Dumars has put in so far. Stuckey, Afflalo, resigning Amir, and now Jarvis Hayes. Hell yeah.
It may be a little premature, but Stuckey looks like he could be more of an impact than Darko ever was. And props to Dumars for admitting Darko was a bust eariler this summer. He's an honest guy and if you listen to interviews he tells you exactly how he feels and thinks.
For example, he defended Sheed because people were throwing him under the bus for getting thrown out in game 6. He said, "Sheed may not have been there for his teammates in the closing minutes of that game, but were his teammates there for Sheed night in and night out of the playoffs like Sheed was for them?"

It's very good, but you left off the most important piece - resigning Billups. He handled it professionally and honestly, and didn't overpay for him. I think the contract Chauncey received was appropriate and fair. Even more importantly, he didn't make things difficult or insulting to Billups, and both sides are very happy with how things went. Without a good resigning, we wouldn't still have an outside chance for a championship in 2008.
He's a consummate professional, no doubt. I fully support our GM!

Isaiah was a far better player than Joe. Isaiah had an unharnessed talent that can not be taught. However, Joe D was a smarter player...and that is why he is a better caoch

Man....this is a rough question for me. As a kid, I idolize Isiah. Every organized sport I ever played, I used the number 11. (Ice hockey and basketball) No one was better. I HATED Michael Jordan with a passion. I refused to buy Jordan shoes until last year. (He makes some damn nice shoes now. :)) When Isiah didn't make the Dream Team, I wanted to murder Jordan. I mean, come on, CHRISTIAN LAETTNER?!?!?
But growing up, the more and more I heard about Isiah, the more doubt clouded my mind. And Dumars is just a genuinely NICE guy.
Isiah is still tops in my list, just because of my childhood...but man, Joe D has caught up prettttty damn close.

We all like Dumars concidering what he has done in management, but in a pickup game Isaiah all day log. He was more of a play maker than dumars could have ever been!
