denver probably did the best defensive job on San Antonio in this year's playoffs.
there were times when Nene was completely killing Duncan.
I would say so. The Spurs big 3 all struggled against Denver. What did the Nuggets in was Michael Finley's hot 3-point shooting, Denver's lack of 3-point shooting, and AI going completely cold after game 1.
couple of hours later and im more excited about this signing. maybe its the homerism in me.
Atkins, even with his faults, is going to help Melo and Iverson out offensively. last year people could leave Blake or JR open beyond the arc and just double Melo and AI without a care in the world. hopefully Chucky can make them pay and discourage them from doubling Melo.
finally we have another 3 pt threat. who was our last one? Voshon? and he had gotten so overweight that he was relatively useless.
the guy is not a true 3 point threat, he takes them spariingly only when he's wide open which is ok because he's not bad from there, he just doesn't shoot it very often..maybe 3 times a game... it's his shot selection and shooting from everywhere else that's scary, he's a career 41% shooter

sounds good to me. doesnt jack up too many but when he shoots, he shoots a good percentage.
I think Denver has good 3pt shooters, atleast they did last year. I think Karl hurt the percentages a little by starting Blake instead of either kleiza or JR. Both are fine shooters and shoot good percentages, but off the bench in 20minute spurts its not helping them too much. Often times they'd be either Melo or AI's replacement at the 2-3 and not always playing with both of them. I think JR is one of the better shooters in the league, and should he regain his starting role he could help out the percentages a lot. I mean another guy like Blake who doesn't even want to shoot like Dre Miller (who just can't shoot) isn't going to make defenses pay for leaving them.
I still don't understand why we don't run this lineup:
PG - Allen Iverson
SG - JR Smith
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF - Nene Hilario
C - Marcus Camby
Does Karl not want to have Iverson as the only playmaker in the lineup? Because that's really all we're losing. Johnson/Diawara can come off the bench for JR and Atkins off the bench for Iverson. Our backcourt is also bigger this way, and our defense hasn't gotten worse, in fact, slightly better. So why not this one?

I agree with you. JR.Smith I liked him last season and find him very good player.
Playing AI + JR in the field is much better then AI + Blake IMO.
