I'd guess eight games or less if the accusations are true.
do we know for sure it is just pot? has this been released yet?

Also, this is his THIRD incident with drugs...one in college to cause him to miss the draft and now two in the NFL, and he has only been in the league 2 years. There is no reason to assume he will ever learn his lesson, he will likely always have this issue.

The rules are pretty straight forward. If you fail a drug test a third time it's a minimum of a one year suspension. It would open themselves up to a lot of scrunity if they didn't follow through with the suspension of a full year.

It would set a precedent for all other step 3 violations in the future.

The report said a positive test for marijuana. As for him not learning his lesson, that was my first reaction too. I've also heard that his teammates were completely shocked if he tested positive, because he had been on the right path.

The timeline of when this positive test occurred is also in question. Again, if the reports are true, he received notification of the failed test in December. Over on RCF, they're saying he actually gave the sample that tested positive in October.

That would mean it was really before he had his breakout year and players said he took a turn for the better. Since we're not supposed to know any of this stuff anyway, details are still really sketchy.

Well, they reduced his suspension last season after his first NFL positive test. The initial reports were that he was going to be suspended 4-6 games, per NFL rules. They eventually reduced it to a 2 game suspension after appeal. He was docked pay for 4 games.

These things are almost always a give-and-take between the NFL, NFLPA and the individual player's lawyer (in this case, Rosenhaus). I guess we'll see.

Gordon is obviously incredibly stupid for failing another test, but the NFL is crazy with its marijuana policy. The NBA doesn't test its players for marijuana. If it did, 90-percent of the league would fail. It's not a performance enhancer and it is no longer a societal taboo.

Gordon knew the rules and, if he failed the test, he's going to have to take the punishment... whatever it is. But, christ all mighty... a full season for marijuana? That's insane.

How sad is it that the NFL has possibly lost the two best young receivers in the NFL (Blackmon and Gordon) due to substance abuse?

offense - sankey or evans. it should be sankey's job from the start and RBs translate easiest to the nfl imo. as far as evans, TB is in desperate need of a receiver opposite v jax and evans is a monster. lovie smith already knows how to utilize big receivers coming from chicago. throw in a 6'6" TE, one of the best catching backs in the league in martin and sims who can back him up...someone's gonna be open

defense - mack. this one was harder. it comes down to opportunity but i just think mack is nfl ready, will make an impact and have the stats to support it
