Dpoy...?
Does Duncan have a shot? SA is the number two defense in the league, and even though he IMO is a worthy candidate, he might get support in the lifetime achievement sense.
On the other hand, Golden State has multiple players who could win (and I'd have no problem with this). Might cannibalize one another though (then again, so could Duncan/Leonard).
Who else is in the conversation? Gasol/Allen from Memphis? Portland and Milwaukee are also top 5 defensively (along with GSW, SAS, MEM).

Re: Dpoy...?
Andrew Bogut. Him being in or out of the lineup means a world of difference defensively for the dubs. I'm sure many Warrior fans would agree. Some will bring up the Warriors record when Bogut is out but just watching them you can see the difference Bogut makes. Bogut is the difference between an early exit or a championship for the Warriors.

Re: Dpoy...?
The fact that he's never won helps, and he's clearly still one of the more impactful big men in the league, but I still don't see it. That is unless the Spurs make a huge run in the second half.
Right now I'd give it to either Gasol or Bogut.

Re: Dpoy...?
I'd like a perimeter guy to get it since no bigs are really destroying anyone. Memphis is 4th in DRTG, and holds teams to the lowest PPG.
Tony Allen would be nice.
I could see Duncan getting it.
Marc Gasol has a shot but his defense hasn't been as good this year in my opinion.
Bogut has been hurt a lot and they didn't exactly lose games without his presence.
I feel like Draymond will get some votes.
Kawhi has missed a lot of time.

Bogut should get it. He anchors that team defensively.

Bogut not close.
Would also accept Tony Allen not close.
Either way it's not close.

Bogut would be clear-cut, if not for missed games IMO. I think he's missed 14 so far?

Assuming he doesn't miss any more games, would be tied for the fewest played in a non-lockout season with the Admiral.

Bogut or Duncan.
A wing doesn't impact the game defensively nearly as much as those two.
I'd probably lean towards Bogut.

Perimeter defense is the most underrated skill there is.
The Warriors became an elite defensive team when they got Iggy. I think they went from 13th to 3rd or something like that. Bogut is their most impactful defender, but Green and Iggy honestly aren't that far behind.

Not sure why LeBron is being mentioned here? Everything I've seen this season has led me to believe that he's been coasting defensively..

Only the most die hard Lebron stans mention him as a legit candidate. Happens every year.
