Original idea was Xavier = MLK, Magneto= Malcolm X. It was an allegory of the Civil Rights Movement.
I've always liked this comparison to Magneto and Xavier.

Marvel Universe is about to change. Humans are about to go to "war" with 'Mutants' or 'Inhumans' as they call them in the Marvel Universe.
