Default Okay to take Advil PM nightly?

Yo anyone here have experience with sleep inducing medicine over the counter? I've been taking 2 advil PM per night every night for the past 2 months, usually get drowsy 20 minutes or so after taking and get knocked out for a solid 8 hours waking up refreshed. I know Advil has NSIAD or whatever anti-inflammatory sh!t in it but if I only take 2 pills (400 mg total) per night as the only medicine i really take will it do any harm to me or is it fine long term?

I've heard it's better to try Benadyrl but the ingredient is slightly different and I've tried Benadyrl which doesn't really do anything to me.

I've also heard some things about Melatonin but I'm skeptical cause research on that says limited results/varying results for those who take it.

anyway shed some light on me regarding this subject anyone in the OTC that has experience or knowledge on this :)

I take Melatonin and I have pretty bad insomnia sometmes...it works for me...

I also have Advil PM and Tylonal PM and they definately work but I don't think taking them every night is good idea...

melatonin is natural, it is inteneded to be taken on a nightly basis, I don't think those others are...

and I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

Melatonin helped me. It also made my dreams much more lucid.

I don't know if that was placebo affect or not, but it's worth a shot.

My gf has been taking Excedrin PM to sleep every night for years. Doc says it is okay, just don't take more than two every 24 hours.

I use Marijuana to sleep. Pills make me too drousy in the morning, and I don't like the forced-sleep feeling.

NSAIDs in low doses aren't harmful and might actually be beneficial because of their anti-inflammatory properties. They can cause ulcers in high doses and they can increase bleeding time. What is it in Advil PM that makes you sleepy?

Deyhydramine Citrate 38 mg in each one so 76 mg of that is basically knocking me out
