It's phucking moronic, instead of being fined they should have their damn phones confiscated for two weeks so they can see that life doesnt end just because you have to wait more than a brief moment before returning communication with someone. Some people act like there was never a time when texting didn't exist, as if waiting until you have arrived or pulled over to resopnd to someone is an impossibility of logic.

from what is being reported in LA this afternoon the police are saying it was just a traffic accident, the roads were wet and he spun out on a turn and left the road....

It's easy to get around the no texting law. Is it illegal to make a phone call in Mass? How can they tell if you're texting or dialing? And isn't pulling your phone records a little extreme? First of all, the process of pulling someone over and having to request phone records probably costs 5 times as much as the ticket would. If you contest the ticket, It's costing the government thousands, even if you end up losing.

Also, isn't pulling someone's phone records borderline invasion of privacy? Constitution fail.

Nice to know that Cali motorists still can't drive in the rain. They're brutal on wet pavements. It was like that when I lived out there.

I can't tell you how many times I've dodged a potential car wreck due to a out of control Mexican speeding on a wet pavement as if he's running from the border patrol.
