Default ESPN Player rankings, what's your reaction? here's mine

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2...players-season
1. Lowry as 21st best, way too high IMO. Rated higher than Kemba, Beal,Mitchell, Gobert,CJ, Wall is rated 32nd! etc.
2. Lilliard at 10th best. Too high esp when he can't play good defense.
3. Giannis is great but can't shoot, tied with KD.
4. Booker rated too low at 31st.
What's yours.

Putting Mitchell above Rudy just feels disrespectful and wrong.

Booker ahead of Wall

Murray ahead of Drummond

Cousins and DeAndre not top 60

Mitchell top 25

This list is awful

Of course it is. It's a list created by the media.

Just as every single media list and media award should be taken with a grain of salt.

Not surprising certainly but laughable. The Jazz were horrible still without Rudy last year.

I’m not a Derozan fan, and if anything I think I am one of his tougher critics, but putting players like Jaylen Brown and Otto Porter above him is disrespectful as hell.

they rely heavily on their rpm metric. It explains like 75% of your criticisms. Also, the media likes overhyping some young guys.

Replace James with Harden and its legit. But maybe Harden surpassed him I dunno.

Horrible list.

Ok, I put aside my antipathy against Labron and still no way he is nr. 1.

Here is what I predict:

1. Anthony Davis
2. Kevin Durant
3. Kawhi Leonard (injuries pending)
4. Steph Curry
5. Harden
6. Lebron

Don't really care about the rest, they're all interchangeable.

I mean, there's just no way Lebron is nr. 1 this season, bump this when I am proven right. Doesn't have the team to cover his weaknesses.

AD is going to flat out dominate this season. They have a better team and AD was an absolute monster last season. 25 years old this season, absolute peak beginning now and the next 5 years.

Can't shoot is definitely correct and why he hasn't delivered.

I agree that this "can't shoot" take is overrated when evaluating players, however, you do need some semblance of being a threat at putting the ball in the hoop from outside 5ft on a consistent basis whenever you are disrespected by the defense. Be it a post game, hook shots, floaters, an off ball catch and release game if you can't create your own jumper, anything at all.

Something that you can do at will. That is what will take Giannis from a forever first round exit to the next tier of player.

Regardless though, he is a beast as you said.
