I think it could be looked at 2 ways. Kobe being in more Finals overall gives him an advantage. However, with Jordan's 6, it was impressive that ones he figured things out, he pretty much always made it to the finals and always won. Its not that he made it to a Finals and won (1-0), then didn't make the Finals the next year, then made it back to the Finals and won again (2-0), then missed the finals, then back, and so on. Jordan's 6-0 is impressive because once he figured out how to win, he became near unbeatable. Kobe won 3, then didn't make the Finals, then lost in the Finals, then didn't make the playoffs, then made it back in the playoffs without making it to the Finals, then made it to the Finals and lost, then won 2 Finals in a row. The consistency in this case is what really elevated the impressiveness of Jordan's winning. Kobe these days always has a chance, but it is more like flipping a coin to see if he wins when everybody expected Jordan to win.Originally Posted by STATUTORY

He's right. Kobe isn't as good as Jordan because Kobe isn't as consistent as Jordan was. I've seen Kobe shoot 9-25 on so many occasions, including multiple force low percentage shots, that I no longer can keep count, but this was almost never the case with MJ.

Agreed, MJ got easier shots than Kobe. Although Kobe can make tougher shots, it doesn't lead to a more efficient game in which no perimeter player cna top MJ(except for LeBron of course).

I laugh at how Kobe stans can even make this debate. They probably weren't even born when MJ was playing. Kobe is good and all but MJ was the way more efficient player.
