Default Livingston tears ACL, MCL, PCL and Lateral Meniscus

Livingston Suffered Tears To ACL, PCL, MCL And Lateral Meniscus
27th February, 2007 - 8:24 pm
Press Release -
Under the supervision of team physician Dr. Tony Daly, Clippers guard Shaun Livingston underwent a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exam on Tuesday morning at Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center in Inglewood.

The MRI revealed that Livingston suffered tears to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), medial collateral ligament (MCL) and lateral meniscus. Livingston also suffered a patella dislocation, in addition to the previously diagnosed tibia/femoral dislocation.

Livingston suffered the injury at the 8:10 mark in the first quarter of the Clippers win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday, Feb. 26 at STAPLES Center. Livingston was transported to Centinela Medical Center immediately following the injury, where he had an MRA (Magnetic resonance arteriogram) that showed no arterial bleeding.

I've never heard of anything this bad. Usually just ACL and/or MCL tear or sprains are considered serious but Meniscus and PCL WOW.

Pretty much tore his CareerCL damn that sucks.

wow, 3 important ligaments are gone! How do you even think about coming back after this? Not only will it take a LONG time to recover from the tears/dislocation, he is also going to have chronic knee problems forever.

It's a very sad story, but CareerCL almost made me spit out my drink

In all seriousness, he should just go to college while he's rehabbing. It might come in handy.

It was just a freak accident. No one touched him or anything. I can't even watch it again. He tears all those ligaments, the knee cap literally pops out of place and all he does is scream... and mans up with a straight face and gets wheeled to the locker room.

And D. Wussy dislocated his arm, and has to have a wheel chair roll him off the floor as he cries like a baby back biatch? He ought to be ashamed of himself.

Best of luck to Shaun, though.

^^^That's actually the big thing I think. It was pretty much a given that the ligaments were all going to be jacked up. As Jim Rome was saying today, he "had his leg on backwards". But the arterial bleeding that often happens with dislocations can lead to even worse complications. At least he managed to avoid that. He might actually be able to make a comeback in a few years as a result.
