You have pegged some of the weaknesses, but downplayed some strengths as well.
C Yao Mutombo A great strength for 40 minutes per game, but they lack the ability to play 48 good minutes night after night. Someone to play 8+ minutes per night and be ready in case one of these two go down with flu or injury is an absolute must.
PF Howard Hayes Battier TMac maybe, Novak
Howard is weak for a starter, but this is a strong position overall.
SF Battier TMac Novak Bowen Strongest roster spot on the Rockets.
SG TMac Snyder Span Head Another very strong position with TMac being a dominant scorer against anyone at SG
PG Alston Head Span Lucas Other than for the missing 8 minutes at Center, this is the weakest position on the team. I hope they can stabilize a two-man rotation for PG, soon.
It is hard to envision Sura returning at an effective level, and Bowen is just meat drawing a check. Let's see what JVG can do with this crew. Any team with Yao, TMac, and Battier is way above average from the start.
